Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a exciting storyline showcasing divine entities, evil spirits, and sinister influences growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the latest installment of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, distinct from the remaining groups.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Planners, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem mismatched, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a brutal first encounter with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death initiated the story’s plot—used The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, invading the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his debts and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the region and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
Based on the recent installment’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Questers and Strategists parties.
