I'll overwhelm 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Attitude

"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Civil Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite declaring he will damage his opponent, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

However, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is really proceeding.
